3 months!

Halsey Jayde- you are 3 months old!

* You wear size 1 diapers

* Your clothes are 0-3 months

* You love your pacifier more than you ever have, mommy is thankful!

* Your hair is growing and I can't get enough of it

* You weigh around 12.5 pounds

* You talk non-stop! It's the cutest thing ever. You are going to be a talker for sure

* You really like the bouncy seat, still not a fan of the swing

* You still HATE riding in the car, it makes things a little tough sometimes, but your movies help

* You take a nap in the morning and 2 in the afternoon

* You have started to discover your hands, if we hand you a toy, you grasp it and immediately open your mouth

* You try to put EVERYTHING in your mouth

* You have started to slobber, alot!

* You love to chew on fingers

* You have been sleeping around 10 hours every night (yay!)

* You smile when someone talks to you, your smile is the cutest thing I have seen

* You nurse every 4 hours during the day and once at night, but you will take a bottle too!

* Your eyes follow me around the house and you turn your head as far as you can to see something

* We found out you are already a big cousin, you will have 3 cousins by Christmas

* You try so hard to sit up, I bet you will be rolling over before long

* You spent 5 hours away from Mommy, but I'm pretty sure you slept through most of it

* You are a hot-natured baby

* You realize Daddy is gone during the day and give him the biggest grin when he gets home

You have brought so much happiness to us! We love you more than anything and thank God for you everyday baby girl!

Poppa's Birthday!

51 years ago today a very special man entered this world and I am proud to call him my dad!

I need to scan more pictures on here so sorry this post is lacking a little.

I have always been a daddy's girl but I just cannot say enough about him!

And I already know another little girl that has her wrapped around his finger!

Happy Birthday Dad, we love you so much!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Poor Baby!

So the last 24 hours haven't been exactly what I would call fun around here! My allergies have triggered a cold/sinus problems and little Halsey has it now too! She was fussy for most of the day yesterday and fought sleep terrible. She gets so mad when she eats because her nose is stuffy and she has a hard time breathing.  So that called for a little trip to Wal-Mart and I found this-

Maybe it was just a fluke but I rubbed that on her, put her in the bathroom with the shower turned hot to get steam going, turned the humidifier on and she slept for 11 hours! She has been napping good so far so hopefully we're on the down-hill side of it!

These two things probably helped too =)

Now we'll see how tonight goes....

A Special Birthday

My intentions for this post are not to be depressing, I just want to remember this and I'll try not to get all sappy. At the end of the day, I really just had a big smile because I know that she would not trade where she is for anything.

Yesterday was a bittersweet day for our family. We celebrated our precious Granny's birthday as she celebrated her first one with Jesus. Our family has always been close, but spending time with them now means more to me than ever. I know all of our time is limited and I want to make as many memories as I can. Of course I forgot my camera but I stole a couple from Kristy :-)

Our family basically ate a yummy lunch, visited, and was just together- exactly what Granny would have wanted. The table was full of a variety of pictures of her. Some with papa, her kids, grandkids, and great-grandbaby Kynsley Jo. It was good, but hard, to see them all.

I cannot say how grateful I am for my family- I love how we keep each other strong. My aunt bought a tree in honor of Granny and I'm so mad I forgot to get a picture yesterday. But it will be there tomorrow :) I love that we have something that represents her and I can see TONS of pictures taken by that special tree already.

We came home, got cozy and I took some pictures of Halsey by her Willow Tree angel and Granny's locket. I plan on doing something like that every year with her, she may be gone physically but her spirit lives on and for that, I am thankful.

This song pretty much sums up my feelings right now. I do not know all the answers but it doesn't matter. God is the same God he was yesterday and will be tomorrow. Psalm 46:10 says Be still and know that I am God. God is everything he says he is or he is nothing at all. I cannot believe he is nothing. He is more than enough.
