A lot changes in a year

Exactly one year ago today I went to the store, came home with a pack of Clear Blue tests, waited the longest 3 minutes of my life, then took this picture:

After that I think I went back and bought two more packs "just to make sure" :)

I had no idea what journey was ahead of me but I wouldn't trade it for anything!





April Fools!

I've never been a big fan of this day but the joke I played last year for April Fools will be one I never forget. Let me start by saying that Tyler and I are always pulling pranks on my parents- it never gets old (for us)!

Last year I was going about my day, remembered it was April Fools and knew I had to think of something for either mom or dad. Then it hit me. Mom was on her way to Texas so I just called to chat and then ended with "Mom, I'm pregnant." It was the longest, most awkward pause ever on the phone. She took a deep breath, thought for a minute and then realized what day it was. Little did I know that I was pregnant but was completely clueless. Needless to say I was the butt of that joke for sure.

In other news, Halsey had cereal for the first time last night and she loved it. We were cracking up at how mad she was getting because I was too slow with the spoon. Hooray for sleeping through the night again! Quite a shock when she went from sleeping 10 hours to up 5-6 times at night.

I'm so glad it is Friday! Me, mom and H are going shopping tomorrow then Halsey's dedication is Sunday- hopefully the sun will be shining!



3 months!

Halsey Jayde- you are 3 months old!

* You wear size 1 diapers

* Your clothes are 0-3 months

* You love your pacifier more than you ever have, mommy is thankful!

* Your hair is growing and I can't get enough of it

* You weigh around 12.5 pounds

* You talk non-stop! It's the cutest thing ever. You are going to be a talker for sure

* You really like the bouncy seat, still not a fan of the swing

* You still HATE riding in the car, it makes things a little tough sometimes, but your movies help

* You take a nap in the morning and 2 in the afternoon

* You have started to discover your hands, if we hand you a toy, you grasp it and immediately open your mouth

* You try to put EVERYTHING in your mouth

* You have started to slobber, alot!

* You love to chew on fingers

* You have been sleeping around 10 hours every night (yay!)

* You smile when someone talks to you, your smile is the cutest thing I have seen

* You nurse every 4 hours during the day and once at night, but you will take a bottle too!

* Your eyes follow me around the house and you turn your head as far as you can to see something

* We found out you are already a big cousin, you will have 3 cousins by Christmas

* You try so hard to sit up, I bet you will be rolling over before long

* You spent 5 hours away from Mommy, but I'm pretty sure you slept through most of it

* You are a hot-natured baby

* You realize Daddy is gone during the day and give him the biggest grin when he gets home

You have brought so much happiness to us! We love you more than anything and thank God for you everyday baby girl!

Poppa's Birthday!

51 years ago today a very special man entered this world and I am proud to call him my dad!

I need to scan more pictures on here so sorry this post is lacking a little.

I have always been a daddy's girl but I just cannot say enough about him!

And I already know another little girl that has her wrapped around his finger!

Happy Birthday Dad, we love you so much!

(Halsey turned 3 months old today but that post will be up tomorrow!)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Poor Baby!

So the last 24 hours haven't been exactly what I would call fun around here! My allergies have triggered a cold/sinus problems and little Halsey has it now too! She was fussy for most of the day yesterday and fought sleep terrible. She gets so mad when she eats because her nose is stuffy and she has a hard time breathing.  So that called for a little trip to Wal-Mart and I found this-

Maybe it was just a fluke but I rubbed that on her, put her in the bathroom with the shower turned hot to get steam going, turned the humidifier on and she slept for 11 hours! She has been napping good so far so hopefully we're on the down-hill side of it!

These two things probably helped too =)

Now we'll see how tonight goes....
